Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a medical treatment used to balance hormone levels in the body, typically during menopause or andropause. It involves the use bioidentical hormones to replace those that are no longer produced in adequate amounts, helping to alleviate symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, muscle loss, irregular menstrual cycles, heavy cycles, vaginal dryness and erectile dysfunction. HRT can also improve bone density, reduce the risk of osteoporosis, and enhance overall well-being. For both women and men, testosterone hormone replacement may also be used to address low testosterone levels, which can lead to fatigue, reduced libido, and muscle weakness.
