LEAKY GUT SYNDROME

Many factors can contribute to Leaky Gut syndrome which includes chronic stress, impaired digestion, disruption in the balance of intestinal bacteria, poor diet, parasites, Candida overgrowth, environmental contaminats, chemotherapy, radiation, and prolonged use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). One predominate cause of leaky gut is the continued consumption of foods that can be hightly irritating to the intestinal lining. These include wheat, gluten, corn, dairy and processed foods. Leaky gut syndrome develops when the lining of the small intestine becomes too porous, allowing entry of toxins, microorganisms, undigested food particles and pathogens into the blood stream.
